Adam Lambert didn't win American Idol, but he sure has gained a lot of media attention!
At this years American Music Awards, Adam Lambert gave a super controversial performance, where he french-kissed a band member and simulated oral sex on stage.
This morning, ABC cancelled his appearance because of 1,500 calls complaining about his performance.
Lambert defended his performance, saying it was in the spirit of Rock and Roll and that he is not a "babysitter," he's a "performer."
Side note: Lambert recently came out as a gay man after speculation during his stint on AI. Many say that this was a way for him to express his newly proclaimed sexual preference.

ReplyDeleteGay or not, if a man/woman had performed the same way on stage it would not have been appopriate for television. What happens in the bedroom is not intended to have an audience.
ReplyDeletei think if it is ok for 2 women to kiss on stage and for women to barely wear any clothing but it can be ok. he said it right he is a preformer and not a babysitter.
ReplyDeleteActually, I thought (or assumed) the keyboard player was a girl, and thought it was the most disgusting kiss I'd ever seen. It was so violent and vulgar! Then I heard the next morning that it was a man and I was like, geez!
ReplyDeleteAlso, no one ever mentions that he had a girl dancing on a pole above him, ran his hand up her leg, across her butt, then held on to her crotch from underneath! My jaw literally dropped.

ReplyDeleteIMHO, he is just mad because he didn't win American Idol and wanted to get some attention from the media. Well, he surely did that! I expected something wild in his performance but certainly not what he did.
ReplyDeleteSo he's gay. Does that mean he has to flaunt it on national TV?? He has taken this too far and his career will suffer from it. I could see a performance like that on MTV but not on a big show like that.
I don't care if he is gay, straight or in between, that was just tooooo much. It was more like he was trying to prove something than a real performance. If you want to make a porno, fine. Keep off primetime tv.

ReplyDeleteNot suited for network television...even though things are getting racier than ever on the major networks...We even have cartoon shows that are too vulgar....For MTV, I would expect this. ABC is in a close run with FOX for trashiest broadcast network. Leave the sleeze for cable.

ReplyDeleteAdam is incredibly handsome and sexy. He is a great, great singer and performer. Having said that, Adam will fall flat on his face if he keeps up performing the way he did Saturday night on the major networks and at major events. He should get his 'fix' by performing at gay clubs, etc,. The performance was too trashy for anything besides porn and soft porn flicks.
